Millions of people post video clips to the Internet on a regular basis. Sharing video clips on the Web used to require a lot of technical knowledge and more free time than most want to spend – until now, that is.The new Sony NSC-GC1 Network Sharing camera is designed specifically for shooting and uploading video to the Web. This camera simplifies the process so much that anyone with a PC, an Internet connection, and a few minutes to spare can do it. Whether they’re tech savvy or not, the Sony NSC-GC1 is an affordable time-saver for social networkers, video bloggers, or families who just want to share a special moment with distant relatives.

Shoot and share in record time.
The Sony NSC-GC1 shoots video in the most widely accepted video format on the web – MPEG4. Popular video sharing sites like YouTube and Google Video and Crackle all accept MPEG4, which creates super-small video file sizes, which equals super-quick uploads. The 1/2.5″ CMOS sensor and SteadyShot Picture Stabilization System make sure your videos will look great online and the Sharemark button keeps your organized by letting you mark any clip you want to share right on the camera. No more searching through hours of video for that classic clip.

No-hassle video sharing.
When you’ve shot your mini masterpiece, just connect the NSC-GC1 to your Windows PC using a USB cable. The camera’s built-in software, Picture Motion Browser (PMB), launches on your PC (no installation required) as soon as you connect. The PMB software will prompt you to choose a clip and ask where you want to upload it. That’s it. No editing, no compressing – just a quick, painless upload. Plus, since the software is included on the camera, you can connect and upload from any PC anywhere.

A body made for moving.
The compact design of the NSC-GC1 means you can slip it into a pocket, purse, or brief case, and be ready at a moment’s notice to capture the most exciting moments of your life. The camera weighs only 150g, just slightly heavier than your average PDA, and it’s only 10cm high and less than 3cm wide. The 2.4″ LCD screen folds out from the body, offering 270 degrees of rotation when open.

Finally, if you like to shoot still images as well as moving ones, the NSC-GC1 has got you covered with the ability to take print-quality 5.0-mega pixel photos.

The Sony NSC-GC1 Network Sharing Camera makes shooting and uploading video to the Web easier than it’s ever been, so, if you’ve been looking for a way to dive, now’s the time.

The user manual also outlines the Kindle Store on Amazon (though doesn’t spec out too many details), but we’re a little less concerned with how we’re getting these supposed e-books right now, and a little more curious about the price and launch.

The Slingbox SOLO allows you to watch and control your favorite TV source from anywhere in the world on your laptop or mobile phone. So now nothing can come between you and your DVR, digital cable, satellite receiver, or DVD player. The Slingbox SOLO not only allows you to watch your home television anywhere, but it also allows you to watch any cable subscriptions, special programming, or sports packages you may have—at no extra cost. If it’s on your home TV, it’s on your computer and phone—with no monthly fees. With the Slingbox SOLO, you can watch all your favorites wherever you see fit.

The Solo’s set-up process is straightforward – install the SlingPlayer software and, by and large, you’re away. Sling has certainly improved the process, hiding more the networking stuff away, but it could do more to smooth it for the less technically adept. We forgot to open up the relevant part of our laptop’s firewall, preventing SlingPlayer from spotting the Solo. The app could have suggested directly that we check this – we eventually found the solution in the Help file. It’s a common enough mistake, after all.

Product Features

Watch your HDTV anywhere on your laptop or mobile phone.

No monthly fees.

Watch and control a high-definition or standard definition A/V device, such as a DVR, cable set top box, satellite receiver or DVD player.

Clip+Sling ready. Use your Slingbox to clip segments of your favorite TV programs and sharethem with friends and family online.

LiveScribe Smartpen. The LiveScribe Smartpen is one of the coolest gadgets that I’ve seen in a while. The LiveScribe pen records your scribbles so that you can view them later on a PC. While that feature is cool, the ability to record audio files is what really makes this gadget shine. You can sync up the audio with your notes and select portions to playback by selecting words that that you wrote down. That way you can jot down words and use them as markers for the audio file instead of listening to the whole thing just to hear one little piece.

They really kept the user in mind when they designed the Smartpen. The software is open-source so you can write your own custom applications. It requires the use of special paper template to work, but once again, they’ve kept us in mind by allowing you to print these templates off on plain paper.

I first read about this over at portable gadget. It is due to be out in Q1 of 2008 and is expected to be priced at under $200. Livescribe looks to capture a market where Logitech and others have done poorly. Beyond capturing written text, the Livescribe has a microphone to record audio. It is rumored to hold 100 hours of audio. It uses dot paper, which can be purchased from Livescribe, or printed out at home. There is also a software devolopment kit available which will hopefully create some good 3rd party apps.

On paper, this sounds like the perfect gadget for a university student. To have the audio and the content of a lecture unified, in a digital format would be invaluable. Written notes are synchronized with audio, allowing the audio playback of the moment specific notes were written. This feature could be useful, as listening to whole lectures is pretty boring.

Hopefully, this pen will turn the tides on the underachieving market of smarpens. Livescribe has huge potential in a market where none of the available products have lived up to expectations yet. I have always thought that spartpens would be useful, but the ones that are currently available are not yet satisfactory. Hopefully, Livescribe will fill the void in the smartpen market, thus making it my most anticipated product of 2008.

Apple’s famous line of iPods has received yet another addition – and this time, it is the iPod nano family to gain from the latest of Cupertino’s think tanks. No, it isn’t a major hardware revision or anything of that sort but instead will feature a brand new color. You can put all those party hats away for now I guess with this rather deflated announcement from Apple. Still, I am sure that there is a certain segment of the population that would love pink to adorn just about any gadget and gizmo that is released today, which means the pink iPod nano will probably do pretty well in terms of sales.

How much does a color change cost? Nothing, apparently, as the pink 8GB iPod nano will still retail for $199. Everything else inside remains the same as the changes are but cosmetic, so folks who pick this model up will still get a 2″ display, 24 hours of audio playback or five hours of video playback on a single charge (of course, certain requirements must be met before this specification is fulfilled), all crammed into a beautiful all-metal design made with anodized aluminum and polished stainless steel. Should pink not tickle your fancy, you can always choose from silver, black, blue, green and a (PRODUCT) RED special edition.

According to Greg Joswiak, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide iPod Product Marketing, “Customers are going to love the gorgeous new pink iPod nano. The pink iPod nano is perfect for people who want a great new color this spring, or who are searching for a special Valentine’s Day gift.” I wonder how confident Greg is of backing up his statement, but marketing guys always gush positive no matter what the eventual outlook is like. At least you know that the pink color iPod nano you tote around comes with 8GB of internal memory, which somewhat makes you a cut above other lesser folks who carry around 4GB of memory.

Apple iPod Pink 8GB – Product Features

8GB* internal flash memory stores up to 2,000 songs or up to 25,000 digital photos (iPod nano-viewable photos transferred from iTunes)

Ultrathin design measures just under 0.3″ thin and weighs only 1.74 ounces

Supports MP3 (up to 320 Kbps), MP3 VBR, AAC (up to 320 Kbps), Protected AAC (iTunes Music Store), Audible (formats 2, 3, 4), AIFF, Apple Lossless and WAV audio formats, plus BMP, JPEG, GIF, TIFF, PNG and PSD (Mac only) image formats; podcasting support

You see, before, I am still not convinced that watches and cell phones should be combined. But as you read before, this is an amazing gadget from Epoq. It has some features like 50m water resistance, as well as analog OLED display, MP4 video support, 1.3 mp camera, mp3/wma audio support, and kinetic recharge system that converts the wearers motion to energy to recharge the two included interchangeable Li-ion batteries. A whole lot of tech but wait you haven’t seen the price yet. Definitely a must have!

Please look for the EGP-WP88 sale starting end of February.

But few things i worried about this stuff are The Zune is a PC-only device that requires its own software and still does not support older WMA-DRM9 music files, Zune Marketplace does not offer TV or movie downloads, the USB connection is proprietary, no Wi-Fi music streaming, and the EQ feature has been removed.

So, it is your choice! but the facts had told us that The Zune has blossomed from an ugly duckling into a worthy iPod alternative. Well, We can spend pages listing the Zune’s features, but when it comes down to it, Microsoft’s biggest achievement will be overcoming the Zune stigma still lingering from last year’s debut. With its beautiful screen, podcast integration, revamped interface, and wireless sync, we believe the latest crop of Zunes should finally take hold as a true iPod alternative.

Denon has announced a new flagship set of in-ear phones, the AH-C751.

With a machined aluminium outer casing, gold-plated stereo mini jack, and noise-isolating design, the AH-C751s sit at the very top of Denon’s in-ear range, replacing the old AH-C700 with a smaller, more compact model.

Oxygen Free Copper, No Less

The phones come with a 0.5m cable plus 0.8m ‘tangle free’ extension cord constructed from Pure-OFC oxygen free copper for lossless transmission. There are also three sizes of soft silicon adaptors to ensure a comfortable fit.
Boasting a frequency response of 12-24,000Hz and 104 dB/mW sensitivity, they’re sure to serve up a considerably better sound than, say, Apple’s standard iPod phones.

What started as a lunchtime project at Denon HQ became the all-aluminium AH-C700 – two silver bullets of aural perfection.

Now Denon’s men in white coats have been back tinkering, giving up scotch eggs and ham rolls to create these, the AH-C751.

Housed in the same anti-resonance, machined aluminium cases, they look the same but sound, we’re assured, even sweeter.

So, anyone want our old ones? Just one careful owner and only minimal ear wax deposits. Anyone?
